Ante And Play

Ante Bet

With the Ante bet you are playing against the dealer and must have the best hand in order to win. You place your Ante bet in the appropriate box on the table.

If you win your Ante bet you are paid even money on your stake. If you have a Straight or better then you receive a bonus on your Ante bet. A Straight receives an even money Ante Bonus, Three of a Kind receives a 4/1 bonus and a Straight Flush receives a 5/1 bonus!

Play Bet

Once you have been dealt your three cards you are required to decide if you want to play or fold. If you fold then you lose whatever bets have already been placed in both the Ante and Pair Plus boxes and the hand is over. If you decide to play then you must match the Ante bet, at which point the dealer will reveal their hand.

If you play your hand and win, providing the dealer qualifies, you will be paid even money on your Play Bet. The Play Bet is not subject to any bonuses based on the strength of the hand. If the dealer does not qualify then the Play Bet is simply returned to the player.

Does The Dealer Qualify?

In Poker Three much depends on whether or not the dealer's hand "qualifies". In order to qualify a dealer's hand must contain at least one Queen or higher. If it does not meet this criteria then the dealer has not qualified for the hand, which has certain consequences for the player.

If the dealer fails to qualify then the player wins their Ante bet regardless of what hand they hold and any Play bets are returned to the Player. The dealer's qualification has no bearing at all on the Pair Plus bet.
